In Greek mythology, Procrustes was a rogue
smith and bandit from Attica who physically attacked people by
stretching them or cutting off their legs, so as to force them to fit the size
of an iron bed.
Being a teacher in today's society implies much more than
simply passing on certain contents. Our students are diverse, have different
interests, learning styles, aptitudes and personalities because we are all
different. Therefore, nowadays schools have to adapt themselves to that
diversity instead of trying to stretch them or cut them off to make them fit
perfectly in a standardised world.
